The Black Chook Shiraz/Viognier 2016
750mL bottleThis is all one could expect from a shiraz at this price, and then some. Its regional sources (McLaren Vale and Padthaway), 4% co-fermented viognier, structure and attitude are normally all the hallmarks of a wine selling for well over $20, not under $20. Its value is hard to beat, but this is also a serious wine that requires respect for its spicy/savoury black fruits, length and balance. Drink By: 2031. Score - 93.
