Santa Carolina Gran Reserva Petit Verdot 2013

A touch shy on the nose, this dusky red shows some mineral qualities underlying the black fruit, spice and savoury licorice notes. Big and bold with the warmth of spice and pepper, it offers a focused core of intensely flavourful blueberry, blackberry and plum fruit. The tannins have been tamed to provide firm structure, but the defining character is its pure expression of the grape. Finishing dry and long, it's a good match for rare-grilled meats.
