Prahova Valley Special Reserve Feteasca Neagra 2016

The late-ripening, thick-skinned Feteasca Neagra offers a great deal to winemakers beyond its intensity and concentration: it's a robust grape with the resilience to survive adverse cold and drought conditions, making it a reliable varietal. This example is well-balanced and quite lithe. Juicy with red cherry, raspberry, cola, spice and smoke, with an underlying herbal note. A great barbecue wine, it will also work well alongside charcuterie and cheese. (Vintages panel, Aug. 2017)
