Poggio Verrano Dròmos 2009

This is Tenuta Poggio Verrano's flagship wine and the bottle shows all kinds of Etruscan symbology in its label design. The long black line at the front evokes the tunnel-like entrance of an ancient Etruscan tomb. The 2009 Dròmos is a succulent and generous wine with soft tannins and generous concentration. The bouquet offers distinct fruit with blackberry, prune and dried cherry. Of course, there are ample secondary aromas (in other words, aromas that come from the oak aging process) of spice, tar and smoke. This is a complete package from Coastal Tuscany.
