Gaston Chiquet Grand Cru d'Aÿ Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs d'Aÿ Grand Cru is once again one of the most distinctive wines in the range. Aÿ is, of course, much better known for its sublime Pinot, but these soils also confer notable personality to Chardonnay. Chiquet's Blanc de Blancs marries the natural breadth of Aÿ with deeply expressive varietal notes and striking freshness. The interplay of those elements makes for a highly engaging and delicious Champagne. I would give this 6-12 months in bottle to fully recover from its January 2017 disgorgement. Score - 92.
