Cathedral Cellar Triptych 2014

KWV, the company behind Cathedral Cellar, was founded by South African wine farmers in 1918 - the year Nelson Mandela was born - and has been a central part of that country's wine history ever since. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Malbec and other varieties and is aged more than a year in oak. It offers loads of dark cherry, raspberry and plum fruit with earthy, savoury spice and toffee shadings. Pour it with mildly spiced bobotie (South African meat pie) or beef empanadas.
